I went to the Rowrah Easykart meeting in August to mechanic for someone I know and I've got to say I was very impressed with the whole set up of the class and championship. The meeting ran like clockwork with the only hitch being the fact it was cancelled in the end due to weather but you can't fault the organisers (Club100 and ACR) for that.

However, I have to disagree with Carreraman about his assesment of the Blue classes, yes it can be expensive (the people who race from the big red awning up in your acer of the woods have proven that) but it has also been proven that a big budget doesn't guarantee you success as the National Championship (No 1 Plate) has been won on a privateer budget a few times in recent years.

For example, the last 3 Champions in the Senior class were all privateers with one of them doing it on a yearly budget of Ł4000 (i.e. me) and I doubt any of the others have spent any more than I did.

In my case, the Ł4000 was for 11 races throughout the year with new tyres for 5 of them, a mid season engine rebuild and purchase of a 2nd hand chassis at the start of it. Try winning an S1 championship on that kind of money!

My personal opinion is that the 2 cheapest ways of becoming a national class champion are in Easykart and the NKRA Formula Blue series. Both classes are great and very affordable to compete for wins at.
