OK, I suppose nobody expected to hear from me on this, but here goes:
Ian: Yes, James was substantially faster than Rene or I. Both Rene and I are around 90 kg; do remind us of his weight, please. I'll remember to bring some lead next time! As for no zero-tolerance marshalling: Absolutely, that’s exactly what we want and what we are about in our races – no contact etc. On the speed, sure, but overall our 180 kg weight and lower grip tyres don’t produce scary lap times at all. “It’s about the quality of the driving experience, not ultimate lap times”.
Alan: I don’t know the exact number, though sales are apparently surprisingly steady given the price and market conditions. However, even this year we’ve had enough turning out for respectable grids. There’s every reason to hope for better next year. In our AiM Club 180 race series we run the engines in standard spec, and they are sealed accordingly. However, the engine can, if others wanted to do this, easily be restricted on either the inlet or the outlet. Then again, a smaller 160cc Aixro will be coming anyway, so we might be spreading an as yet small market pretty thin by going down that road. Still, tell us what you have in mind.
To race4fun, the original questioner: Only one way to find out – have a go. Check contact details as per itpro’s post above. If you have plenty of track/racing experience you won’t have a problem. But judge for yourself.
