Hi guys, I am a total virgin to karting! I’ve got a 7 and 10 year old boys… I have just bought a biz chassis with a Honda GX160 engine for my 10 year olds Christmas present, I don’t think he is going to be into karting as much as I would like, but I’m hoping by buying him this kart, who knows he might start to enjoy it! Im looking to buy something for my 7 year old, I need some help and advice on what is suitable for him… He is 4ft tall. What I had in mind was to get him a kart that he can practise in and then maybe progress to racing when he is 8 in 6 months time.
So this is what I had in mind for the kart…. Either a 60cc cadet Kart? Or a cadet Kart with a Honda GX160, I would of like to have stuck with the GX160 as I like this engine, but I don’t want to buy the wrong thing, there are a few cadet 60cc and GX160 on ebay at the moment but I don’t want to buy something that has modifications that wouldn’t be allowed, so is there anything that I should be asking about the kart in regards to illegal modifications?
I live in Weston Super Mare and it looks like clay pigeon racing track in Doncaster is the closest and most practical track for us?
I don’t want to rush and buy something now and get the wrong thing for him it has to be suitable for practicing now and then maybe starting racing if he enjoys it and how he gets on.
Any advice or other ideas on what would be more suitable would be great! Sorry about the long first post… If any one has anything that you think might be suitable that you are selling, contact me.
Thank you, James
