We both know that I really think you are a great guy and almost EXACTLY what we need in Karting..... expect for your strange views on animal, children, our duties and KERB!

You are a long term Karter but I STILL out rank you by 30 years! I have SEEN karting go though phases of 'Yes' to kerbing and 'No' to kerbing and I have heard ALL the arguments 40 times over! And the answer is SIMPLE.... apply the damned RULES and stop re-interpretting them to suit THIS year's 'fashion'!!!!

The rules are CLEAR: any kart which has more than ONE wheel over the white lines (which ARE INSIDE THE KERBS, if you remember) REPEATEDLY may be DISQUALIFIED! That's plain and straight forward; there's no need to 'interpret' THAT: it's clear and concise AND SENSIBLE! All you need to do is the following:

1) Issue the drivers a FORMAL notice (in writing and verbally) at the driver's briefing that you will be (finally) sticking to the RULES.
2) Arrange for observers at a few notable corners.
3) Issue a warning flag to the FIRST driver who breaks the rules.
4) Black flag the first one (and all subsequent ones) who breach the rule!

There will be MAYHEM from the first person black flagged, and probably the second one too..... and then, even KART drivers will LEARN that you intend to apply the rules AS THEY ARE WRITTEN! By the end of the afternoon, after (I'll guess) no more than 10 black flaggings, all our little kiddies will have suddenly LEARNED how to drive WITHOUT CHEATING. They won't notice the chassis 'defenders' and they WON'T be needing now spockets, chains and stubs for the final!

The bit that I find AMAZING is that this is finally what you will HAVE to do ANYWAY! When the insurance companies finally discover that you HAVE a 'white line' and you let drivers get away with racing OUTSIDE that white line.... which means they are OFF THE CIRCUIT and thus U*N*I*N*S*U*R*E*D.... they will have APOPLEXY and cancel your public liability! It WILL come!
