My advice is ask other cadet dads for advice when you are at the track, especially those who have the same chassis. Find a good starting point for front and rear track (spacing between wheels). Add lead weight to kart seat so total weight including driver is around 95kg, look at how others have afixed the lead. You'll probably find your 6 year old will still find it hard to control the kart properly, but will get better with more time driving. While your driver is learning to control the kart and improving driving lines, you can fiddle with tyre pressures and changing sprockets to suit track and conditions.
