Plot a graph showing the amount of money and so called "professionalism" in karting against time. Do the same for frustration of competitors against time. The two will correlate exactly.

The key to a thriving karting community is to keep it simple and competitors, traders and officialdom alike are to blame for the departure from this. Karting as a whole really needs to be brought back down to earth.
