So often it seems that, at the conclusion of any major meeting, the majority of the posts on here are swung towards the negatives not the positives. Occasionally we get a 'congratulations Joe Bloggs' thread but more often than not the first thread following any big meet is one highlighting a problem with the meeting. That's fair enough as everyone is entitled to vent the occasional spleen but i'd like to congratulate a few drivers on their performances at the FKS round at Whilton Mill

Firstly George Russell - the new British Cadet Champion to go with his O Plate and GP titles - well done George after a season when it didnt always go to plan (C Final at Round 2 and B Final on the Sunday at Genk)

Tom Harvey and Ricky Collard - two first time FKS winners - both with stunning drives and the right attitude - smiles all round at the presentation

Alex Gill - in my 3 years with FKS Alex has been a credit to the championship and the Cadet scene as a whole - he was the first to say how much better the weekend had been if Harry Webb had been able to race. Im sure Alex will succeed in whatever class he moves in to.

Jack Barlow, Harry Crawley and James Singleton - all three conspired to make sure the Mini Max title wasn't sewn up until the last lap of the last race. All three have driven superbly all year and the spotsmanship shown between Jack and Harry at the end of the Sunday final was something that would put a lot of professional athletes to shame

Matt Parry and Ash Hand. Matt was very brave in choosing to race on Sunday and not watch from the sidelines in case he got disqualified for anything - he and Ash then put on a virtuoso display of hard but fair driving in the final. It could have easily ended in tears but it didn't and once again their show of sportsmanship at the end of the race spoke volumes about their maturity and overall character.

Alex Albon - KF3 is a great class to watch and, well, Alex is a very special talent who conducts himself very professionally at all times. In a class packed with talented drivers in FKS Alex has been a cut above the rest for most of the year. Like Cadet Champ George Russell, our 2009 British Junior Champion is a huge credit to our sport.

Macaulay Walsh, Ben Barnicoat, Russell Danzey and Callum Bowyer - all have been mightily impressive in KF3 at various points during the year - had luck been on their side from the start any of them could have challenged Mr Albon much closer for the title.

There are many more I could mention - but this post has gone on long enough - how about we start a thread that praises just a few of the excellent performances put in at all the major FKS and S1 rounds and not dwell on the bad points - which seem to take up a far greater percentage of these pages (no matter how justified peoples complaints are), the bad should never outweigh the good in our sport
