initial outlay is a bit more. you'll be looking at between £2000-£4000 depending on age, condition and tune and how many spares it comes with. go for a retirement sale if possible. Catherine fosters kart is on ebay atm and that would be in mint condition.
as for championships you have your normal club championships, the nkf and super 4. nkf is like a middle ground between club and super 4.
annual budget totally depends on how much you do and how seriously your taking it (ie: new tyres every meeting and getting a team to run you...) doing a hole season at club level competitively your probably looking at around £5000 all in and that would get you winning races. you can obviously do it for a lot less or a lot more. whereas in rotax you coudl end up paying over £10,000 for that "special" engine which is needed just to run at the front at club level. then you'll have your new chassis every 3 meetings etc... this just doesn't happen in 125 gbox making it much cheaper to be competitive as all the engines are much of a muchness and people dont go crazy on chassis.
