I haven’t been to nearly enough tracks to answer the question; so I’ll pose another based on a combination of experience and hearsay: wouldn’t PFI be the only candidate for “best overall”? The facility as a whole is head and shoulders above anything else (or am I wrong?). Apart from the horrible right-hander after the pit entry, I say it’s very good to drive, with nice, flowing bends, a quality surface and good width. Plus it’s welcoming and friendly (unlike some). So it’s one hell of a package in my book. Shame the UK seems so bereft of any comparables.
Welcoming and friendly in my experience also applies to both Lydd and Rye. I agree that Lydd is great to drive, but the facility generally is of course sorely in need of improvement. Rye has a different mix of fun to drive vs. general quality.
After all, when we pay our practice/race entry fee, we’re not just paying for the tarmac and its layout.
