....and you are trying to find out how much weight is acting on each wheel, ..so isnt it best to simulate that 4 point contact when weighing.
Your method would "even out" some of the weight distribution irregularitie, but give an accurate total weight
EG.. imagine a badly twisted front end. ( one wheel off the ground !) .. your method would not show any difference between the two front weights ( or the rears !
4 point measurement would show different weights on all 4 corners...which is what you need.
