nicky,
i apologise for any offence caused as i know its unfair to tarnish everybody with the same brush and i understand your point of view and yes you have a job to do and maybe you are one of the few good marshalls, but there are some at hooton that have been seen texting on their mobile phones during races etc and not paying attention. the marshalls have a hard job to do and i think that the problem at hooton maybe a lack of observers rather than marshalls if they cant see all the incidents and report them. the opinions i put earlier are based on the fact that one of our drivers who is junior got fired by a notoriuos driver coming through the chicane flat out, head first into the tyre wall and it was just a miracle he didnt have a broken leg amongst the other damage. the marshall reported the incident with incorrect numbers, a warning was given to a random driver and the incident got swept under the carpet not for the first time despite requests for it to be looked into, certain drivers keep being allowed to do these kinds of things and the incidents are getting more severe. a driver in senior tkm was allowed to punt his way through the grid pretty much all day without so much as a warning flag. and then the incident with mark capped it off, the reaction time was way too slow and i appreciate that may not be down the marshalls as they cant make a call. the bottom line is there are people who are going to stop racing there because of how it is being clerked, and people that know nothing about karting or racing (i.e some of our friends and my mrs) came to watch and commented on how poor it was. i just really dont want to see someone get seriously hurt because of the antics that are being allowed.
