If you're entering an MSA kart race then everything about you and your kart has to be MSA legal. Kart, Race Suit, gloves etc.
The date of expiry might be on the back of your race suit, and as long as your gloves don't have any cuts etc. they should be fine.

Not entirely sure about the diagonal bars, one for someone else i think.
