Hi, I’m looking at booking my ARKS test and I’ve seen that some of the schools offer pre-arks training courses combined with the ARKS test. What is the general opinion of the these courses?
I’ve done a couple of practice days at Whilton Mill and can get round ok and, although I don’t have loads of experience, I do have an understanding of the theory about setting up a kart and have had some guidance from a friend who’s been racing for a few years. So I’m trying to decide if paying an extra £150 – 200 on top of the cost of my ARKS test would be beneficial. I’m not trying to pretend I know everything already (cos I don’t!) but will I gain any useful knowledge from one of these courses or are they aimed at people who have never even sat in a kart?
I realise everyone’s circumstances are different and different schools will vary but I’d be interested in the general feedback – i.e. was it invaluable knowledge that would take months/years to learn or did you think “I already knew most of that stuff, I wish I’d saved my money”.
Cheers.
