Erm....
TKMs are SUPPOSED to slide! They are NOT Rotaxes where all the skill is removed by having too-sticky tyres!
Secondly, it's hard to advise you unless we know what you mean. If you are saying that the REAR of the kart (and thus not the WHOLE kart or JUST the front end) is not gripping enough.... I might just be able to see your problems from something you've said. You say you ARE further foreward than other TKMs... and that you have a low-grip rear end. Have a look at my previous post and see what I am suggesting happens if your weight is too far FORWARD...
However, the ke may well be the age of your Maxxis. If they are older than 2 day's use..... all 'bets' are off! TKMs don' change the NATURE of their handling with older tyres. I.e., they continue the same balance of front/rear grip on new AND old tyres but the overALL grip decreases. You thus can get pretty close to the balance of handling on old tyre but you will be MILES off the grip levels and thus lap times and speed.
Get the kart's 'balance' correct and then put new tyres on.
