When we looked for rib protection we found that both the OMP and the Sparco one were of the "soft and squishy" type, so the carbon was very thin and not a hard shell protection like the P1 etc. We ended up with a FreeMinds one, and are 100% happy - hard shell but well shaped to fit and forget about, but its all down to personal choice, so try a few if possible and choose the one you get on with.
