Well, the definition of a van verses a camper is nothing to do with the bed or window. Think of all the long distance lorry drivers with beds, sinks and even microwaves!! It's to do with the bulk head. Van = bulk head, camper = no bulk head. In other words you can walk through from the cab, like a motorhome for instance.
Having said that I converted my Iveco using a smashed up caravan. For the severn bridge (other toll bridges and roads are available! LOL!) they insisted on seeing a 'proper' bed, sink and cooker. The said 'proper' because of the amount of people that try it on with a camping stove, air bed and washing up bowl! I left in the bulk head because from an MOT point of view there were less stringent checks on a van, i.e rear seat belts etc!!
