Just got my son a WTP B1 Kart, 2004 chassis from eBay.

We're simply going to use it for fun this year, we went to GYG last weekend and he absolutely loved it. At Ł390, we'll sell it on again next year and if I get back 1/2 that I'll be more than happy. I think GYG would allow you to enter this kart into a race, but you wouldn't score any points.

For most first-timers it's just a foot in the water, you could go out and buy a brand new kart and then find your kid hates it.

Aiming to move up to a junior class next year if son still likes it with the aim of entering races etc. Probably get a Junior TKM, wanted to go 4 Stroke for costs but doesn't seem to be raced much.

eBay's great-just do some homework and be realisitic about what you're going to use the kart for.
