It's dirty - wash it!
Put a towel in the sink so that the helmet doesn't get damaged. Fill the sink with warm water then use baby shampoo and / or washing detergent for handwashing clothes. Gently rub the whole of the inside lining rinse and repeat until it smells as good as new!
Make sure it's rinsed thoroughly, squeeze out excess water and dry in the open air if possible or on a towel over a radiator if necessary.
Try to resist tumble drying it! lol
