LOL, come on Ian give this guy a chance, yes he is setting himself up for a fall, but personally I like his style!
He's come on here asked a question and in the end has got an answer that makes a lot of sense via Paul, who perhaps is one of the few on here that has that sort of experience.
Personally I have only ever used a Mychron and am very happy with the results but have no experience with anything else and am never likely too because of the cost.
Your "bum in the seat time" advice is of course sound advice but too my mind wasted if you do not record the data and kart-setup changes used while getting the track time. I have recorded data and chassis set-up for every session we have ever run for the last 5 years and would always consider it a missed opportunity if I did not.
I will end by offering George a final piece of advice which given he has not asked for it may get me a slap from him? but here goes;
Ellough Park is the base of Richard Lock Racing which is one the best kart racing teams around why not have a word with Steve Armstrong and ask him to put together a training programme for you?
