Since you mention F3 I assume you were using the FIA Bosch 2.2/3.1/4.x system. I've used various systems over the years and have to say, the Bosch system is superb. Granted, I haven't used the high-end Pi, Magnetti etc stuff, but I've used most club level systems and they're all much of a muchness.

For karting, a full-blown Pi system is probably overkill. In my opinion the MyChron range offers the best value for money of any system out there. Download the Race Studio software from the link below and run through the sample data. I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised.
