I know the comments about chips are tongue in cheek but you need to be aware that waste chip oil is not "veg oil".

The advise I gave is for using SVO (straight vegetable oil) ie. the stuff you buy in Tesco etc.

If you plan to use WVO (waste veg oil) make sure it is true veg oil (and you have to filter it very well !!) and NOT the stuff used in chippies as that contains animal fats.

If you simply filter the used "chippie" oil eventually all the animal fats will clog up your filter/pipes/etc and you'll get a big bill from the garage !!. You can use it but it must be processed properly (ie chemicals/heat/agitation etc).
