I am NOT an expert on this one. The suggestion that helmets DON'T help absolutely STUNNED me. I have always insisted that my kids wear them

Here is an example of a 2005 report on the subject:-

The key phase is this one:-

"Conclusions: There is no evidence that cycle helmets reduce the overall cyclist injury burden at the population level in the UK when data on road casualties is examined."

The one I quoted is NOT definitive but it was a STUNNING surprise that ANY doubt existed!
