Motor racing is very much a non-essential industry and is prime for a correction in a recession such as this one. I would envisage a significant number of companies going under, particularly among the kart traders.

While the wealth of the uber wealthy will decline, it may not be so much to curtail their expensive hobbies. However karters are a different matter. Most of us are not uber wealthy, have regular salaried jobs [or are mom/pop business owners], and will need to cut back on our spending there. Its more or less what happened in the early 1980s and early 1990s and this recession looks a lot worse.

**** As a precautionary measure... I would advise that people pay for any mail order items by credit card OR better still physically visit the kart shop to pick your goods up when you pay. ****
