Could be that the reason for low SENIOR numbers vs. high CADET numbers = some of the adults giving-up in favour of their offspring. I am in a potentially similar situation, with a cadet coming up to racing "speed" and if she does take it up there won't be enough funds for two licensed drivers active every month. Something will have to give.
The only problem with joining the Euro is that the £Sterling is going to bounce back and rise against the Euro, not to mention that unlike any other "club" once we're IN (because it suits us) it will be difficult to get OUT (graciously anyway) because it doesn't suit us any more!
Another reason for not joining the Euro in the middle of the recession is the same for every aspect in life: never make an important long term decisions during a period of duress!
