Kim was absolutely the most generous, giving, helpful, friendly and funny guy to be alongside in the paddock. Equally, team Kim-Julie the best 'team' to be racing alongside, in our shared objective to one day catch the main pack !!

Particularly at Clay, even though we were direct novice competition for Julie, Kim was so often the sole reason Steve & I were able to continue racing or in some cases even turn up at the start line. I cant remember a single race day that Kim hadnt voluntarily fixed something or even rebuilt our karts at the track.

The result never truly mattered to Kim, it was always about finishing with a smile on your face and teaching you everything that he could, passing on all his knowledge so you could perform the best you could on the day.

I will never forget one particular race at Clay in 2007, speaking with Kim & Julie immediately after the race. I had finished in last place and Julie 1 place ahead of me. We had raced bumper to bumper from the 1st corner to the chequered flag, changing places several times. The other 22 racers in front just didnt matter, Kim was so happy to watch us battle for an entire race head to head with no incident or breakdown (a rare occurence in itself!). Even though we'd finished as last 2 it didnt matter at all, our novice race was awesome. Kim, Julie, Steve & I were all on such a high in the paddock all day after that enthrawling race, an absolutely treasured race and day to share with him. Just one fanastic moment of so so many.

Kim, you will be sorely missed mate, rest in peace, never ever to be forgotten.

Mark
