I know a few Dads whose kids where involved and yes the race was staged. Kid came in last after 5 llaps and went out first so it doesn't take a lot of working out.

Apparently the Marshalls controlled the speed of the others (not shown on TV) as they came in and went out and so the kid was magically shuffled to the front. There were a few Dads really unhappy about it as they were told the race would be 100% fair but thankfully I don't think anybody was shown in a bad light given the shenanigans.

Agree it was good publicity for Karting.
