Wow this has been a marathon read!

This all started because someone dared to ask the question about us being forced to purchase a new "and required by MSA ruling" component from the traders in order to race next year.

It's bad enough that we have to purchase this new part but to add insult to injury it has been declared that this MUST be made from material that does not last. = Guaranteed repeat business for traders!

Every year there is a new ruling brought out that when everyone hears about it asks the question "why do we need to change this?"

Just like the fully enclosed chain guard that was brought in previously and just like the next ruling to be brought in next year about some other perceived problem that no one has ever thought about. (Except the major players in the karting supply chain who also have very strong influence with the MSA I suspect)

WAKE UP EVERYONE - this is about new ways to part us from our hard earned cash and is sold on the basis of improving our safety.

In my humble opinion.

ITPRO et al I am not interested in a huge debate on this but just thought I would share my views to see if anyone else has the same thoughts. :-)

It's always easy to see when the racing season is winding down by the upsurge in pointless postings on this forum.

I am now diving for cover! ;-)
