Alan, the REASON why the kerbs are OUTSIDE the white lines is two-fold:-

1) The driver is ALLOWED to driver ANYWHERE on the track and the kerbs are made fairly agressive to keep drivers OFF the kerbs. You would NOT place such agressive object WITHIN the track!
2) that your insurers would BAN you from having HUGE lumps of concrete ON the 'TRACK' which the kerbs WOULD be if they were WITIN the white lines.

If I am WRONG about this....... move the white lines OUTSIDE the kerbs and EVERYBODY will be happy!
