Thanks for the responses so far. Please let me explain a little more. My son is 7 and probably a little on the small size. I have been given a TKM chassis which is obviously way to big for him. I think he would soon out grow a bambino kart if not already. So i wondered if a could get a cadet frame and make use of some of the fittings from the rolling chassis i have been given. I am quite mechanically minded and know that modifications may have to be made. I thought about puting a honda GX engine on it and restricting the throttle. We have a good outdoor track nearby there isn't a club there but on Sundays they allow private karts on for practice/pleasure, not competitive racing. I'm a sensible dad who wouldn't allow him in ANYTHING that would be dangerous. He's 7, mad about F1 racing, and just wants a little fun so i don't want to spend a fortune on something he will grow out of/get bored of!! But I'm well aware once he starts he may get the bug and want to race, which would be great.
This seem to be a grear forum with loads of good info. I know with all your knowledge you will provide good help/advice.
Thanks again.
Paul.
