Rotax max is still around and is the strongest grid in the country (as in more people race it than any other class).
If I was you I would just use what you have, the engine should still be good enough to race as they dont develop them and the class is pretty stable. If it hasnt been run for a while, it maybe worth asking a engine builder/sealing agent to at least change the oil seals and maybe give it a quick check over.
I would then race this for a few months, whilst you find you feet again and also gain your own opinion about whats good and whats not, it will all be obvious and your choice after a few months, given you have obviously done alot in the past anyway.
Your in a good position as you already have something that will probably not need alot of money being spent on it to be able to get on the track. One thing to do is make sure you chassis is legal ie bodywork rules bumpers, chain guard etc....
