... is the "standard" material used for most commercially made Euro chassis.
28 mm, 30 mm, and 32 mm sizes are used in various combinations to suit the required chassis dynamics.
Welding is critical, TiG being preferred, or Brazing for special circumstances.

Note,
Generally, making a one off chassis is difficult, time consuming, and ends up costing more than buying a frame off the shelf ( used ones are rediculously cheap !)
